There will be times your hot tub will not be in use. You’re too busy, you need to give it a good clean and just haven’t got round to it, or you are going on holiday and will leave it unattended for a period of time. What do you do with your hot tub?  There are a variety of solutions you could utilise depending on length of time you won’t be using it. 

• If you are going away for a week, place a quantity of chlorine in the tub and shock it when you return.   

• It would also be advisable to turn your hot tub down to economy setting. Don’t turn your hot tub off. Turning it off means the water will not circulate causing your water to stagnate. Water will also stagnate in your pipes which may cause issue when you return from your holiday. If the weather is cold, water that isn’t circulating will be prone to freezing, which may in effect, affect your parts and components. 

• Remove your hot tub pillows. This will ensure they don’t collate unwanted particles.   

• Make sure your water is as clean as possible before you leave. Using a floating dispenser is an ideal way to ensure there’s always enough sanitiser feeding the water. Also ensure your filters are clean. A clean filter is less likely to contaminate your water. 

• If your water is due for a change, then before you go on holiday would be the best time for this to occur. This will give your hot tub the best chance of keeping clean if you follow the other points too.   

• Ensure you have a cover for your hot tub. This will keep debris away from your water and if your cover is insulated be kind to your pocket...
